VANCOUVER, WA — WWE Superstar John Cena shocked everyone in attendance last night, during a benefit concert held by the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA).
During a number by pop legend Stevie Wonder, the former WWE champion simply walked onto the stage area and flashed his popular "You Can't See Me" hand sign in Wonder's direction.
Wonder, who was naturally oblivious to the scene, simply continued to smile and perform, before the uncomfortable eyes of everyone in attendance.
"It was John Cena," explained John Brodigan, chief of security for the event. "So I thought it was a scheduled walk-on. But when he flashed Stevie that sign of his – and here of all places – we were like, holy #$%&, man."
That's when Brodigan, accompanied by two members of his staff, immediately rushed the stage to apprehend Cena, and escort him to the back.
At time of publication, it was still unclear what Cena's motives were.
As one might expect however, word of the incident got around pretty quickly. Already, representatives from various associations for the blind around the world issued statements of shock and outrage, calling for an immediate public apology from Cena.
Neither WWE nor Cena could be reached for comment.
