MONTREAL, QC — On the heels of successful live action movie adaptations of popular video games such as Resident Evil, Hitman and Silent Hill, EA Sports has announced a casting call for its first first big-screen project, 'NHL 10 The Movie'.
Directed by Uwe Boll (House of the Dead, BloodRayne, Far Cry), 'NHL 10 The Movie' will begin shooting in Vancouver, BC in May 2010.
Already, heterosexual fashion photographer Anthony Turano has been cast as that guy in the stands who gets up and sits down a lot.
When contacted for comment, Turano told us that this is his first movie role, and that he's both "nervous and ecstatic;" adding that he will be undergoing intensive training in the coming weeks under professional Sitting & Standing coach Tina Kissavos.
EA Sports has assured us that everything fans have come to love about the game will also be found in the movie, including the possibility – provided a small premium – of upgrading your seating arrangements at the expense of everyone who only paid the price of admission.
At the end of the film, exit doors will remain locked until a unanimous consensus has been reached by all those in attendance that it's okay to go.
NHL 10 The Movie hits theaters in March 2011.
